She was our friend, our daughter, our sister, our granddaughter, our niece. Heidi was only 33 when she lost her courageous fight against skin cancer. We want her memory to help others survive.
We urge you to take precautions in the sun. This is especially important for children because sun exposure has long lasting effects.  Also, stay out of tanning beds. Encourage your friends to get a skin cancer screening. Talk to your family doctor if you have a mole that worries you or meets any of the signs of skin cancer.

We created this web site to remember and celebrate the life of Heidi Huber who died April 1, 2002, after a courageous battle with malignant melanoma.  Heidi fought fiercely – never letting the cancer take her spirit.  Heidi was a 1987 graduate of Orono High School, a 1992 graduate of Augsburg College triple majoring in German, Economics and International Business, and a Peace Corps volunteer from 1993-1996 in Botswana, Africa.  She later earned her Master’s degree in Education from Harvard University in 1998.
